Preface
BROM CMS is a PHP based content management system. It is characterized by simple operation. Through the use of templates, the system can also be good for your website needs. The adaptation of the templates is also included in the BASIC version (freeware) allows. The professional version can be created their own templates or installed new templates and online editing it.
So is said that are two variants for the CMS there. More information about the differences are under the menu Features to find.
Installation
Prerequisites:
For the installation of BROM CMS you need a web server with PHP version 4.3.1 and a MySQL database from version 4.1.2. WARNING: The script was not tested in the PHP and MySQL versions 5! A fault can not be excluded.
New-Installation:
- Unzip the downloaded file to a local folder.
- Insert the access information for your MySQL database rightly.
- Download all files and directories from the folder "brom_cms" or the entire this folder via FTP into any directory on your server.
- Run the script in shape "http://your.domain/cms-folder" - the installation starts automatically.
- Follow the instructions of the installation.
- After successful completion of the installation the login window appears for the first login.
Update from version 3.x to a newer version from BROM CMS
Run an update by the following:
- Download the latest version from BROM CMS and unpack the compressed file.
- Overwrite all files and directories except „install“, „config“, „media“ and "objects" with the new version (If you have other files (templates) have changed, so you may also not overwrite)
- Log in as Administrator, it will start automatically with the update dialogue for the new version
- Select the item "Update version ..." -> Performing
- Log in to safety again, because an update may be some features only after repeated login exist
Note: The dialog "update version ..." is only in the newer versions, where a table adjustment is required. If the item is not available, as are any changes after you upload the files updated. In the included install.txt file are always current explanations for the action.
